How to reuse a candle jar

An empty candle jar can be useful if it is undamaged and thoroughly cleaned. Not every use is suitable for a former fragrance vessel.

Let it cool completely

Use the candle only to its specified residual-wax limit, then let the vessel cool completely. Remove solid wax gently; avoid knives, impacts and abrupt temperature changes.

Keep wax out of drains

Dispose of wax and wick parts with residual waste according to local rules. Liquid wax can block pipes and should never go down a sink or toilet.

Choose an appropriate new use

Use an intact, odour-free jar for pens or small objects. Do not automatically use it for food, drinks or a new homemade candle unless its material and heat resistance are explicitly suitable.
